Many Romanians are aware that their nation’s human rights abuses, most notably in their treatment of children, minorities, and women, stand in the way of acceptance into the Western world. They are ready to change attitudes and laws, build domestic violence shelters and counseling centers, train police and social workers, and develop public awareness strategies and programs. If ARPGE can give them a financial hand-up, they can do the rest.

Because of the strength of the American dollar, a small donation can go a long way in Romania.

• $25 can pay for a day for one girl at a GLOW camp
• $70 can pay for the phone line of a domestic violence hotline for a month
• $70 can pay the salary of a domestic violence couselor for a week
• $300 can pay for 1000 information fliers on sexual assault
• $600 can pay for a new computer for a Gender Resource Center
• $500 can cover the office-related expenses for a Romanian non-profit for one month

The directors of ARPGE, through their experiences living and working in Romania, make sure that your donation goes to the most competent, forward-thinking, responsible Romanian non-profit organizations. When you make your donation, either online or via check or money order, indicate to the ARPGE treasurer whether or not you’d like a t-shirt, what style you’d like, and in what size. Shirts come in traditional and “baby” tee styles in sizes small, medium, and large and extra-large. Please also designate a mailing address where the shirt can be sent!
